64 x 64 cm (approx 86 x 86 cm framed).
Mixed media on board, laid on wood panel.
Float-mounted in a purpose-built painted frame, and displayed behind artist's acrylic.
This is a new piece that evolved from my ongoing series of small-scale monochrome landscape paintings.
The experience of a single visit to the River Mole in Surrey led to these 16 dynamic paintings, all depicting different views of the river as I walked about half a mile of its course. The resulting grid of images enables the viewer to follow the same journey, step by step, or to experience it as a semi-abstract composition.
The work is float-mounted behind reduced-glare acrylic glazing, in a specially commissioned wooden frame that has been hand-painted in a neutral tone.
